All of the respondents in the Rebecca Clarke redistricting lawsuit are named in their official capacities and not necessarily because the petitioners necessarily think all of the the respondents did anything wrong. (Although the petitioners may very well believe that of some.)


The Elections Commission folks got pulled into into it because it "administers and enforces Wisconsin election law" and has "responsibilities for implementing apportionment plans," according to the petition filed asking the state Supreme Court to take original jurisdiction in the case.


All of the state senators named were elected from "unconstitutionally configured" districts, the petition said.


Alas, the state Department of Justice does not post the type of bios of its lawyers that private firms do, so there is not much I can say about the individual attorneys.
